What are Anti Wrinkle Injections?

Botulinum Toxin is a prescription medication that is injected into the facial muscles to temporarily weaken and paralyse them. This in turn helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The skin appears smoother giving a more youthful appearance. Over a period of around 12 weeks the Botulinum Toxin wears off and it is time to book your next appointment.

Are they safe?

Provided that the client has had a full consultation and provided the practitioner with all up to date information regarding any health concerns and administered correctly then yes they are totally safe.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are generally minimal. Each client is different so treated individually. Some clients may experience slight bruising or swelling. This will subside over a few days.

Who isn’t suitable for Anti Wrinkle Injections?

• Anyone who is allergic to Botulinum Toxin, egg or human albumin

• Women who are pregnant or breast feeding

• Clients who have a skin infection at the injection sites

• People taking aminoglycoside antibiotics

• Caution should be taken with people who take blood thinning medication such as Warfarin, Clopidogrel simply due to the risk of severe bruising and bleeding

When will I see the effects of having Anti Wrinkle Injections?

Botulinum Toxin can take up to two weeks post treatment to fully show. However, most people notice an improvement between day 3-5. Do not be disappointed if this doesn’t happen for you as previously explained, we are all very different. Each client will return after two weeks for an assessment and top up (if needed).

When should clients begin this treatment?

As they are anti aging injections to prevent the signs of aging, the sooner the better. I always advise people to have this treatment done before they show signs of static lines (facial lines that are there without movement).

Will my face look frozen and fake?

When people have been over injected, injected poorly or too much product has been used, this can cause the frozen and unnatural look. When the correct amount of product is injected properly and within the advised period, having Anti Wrinkle Injections will look natural and subtle.

What is Dermal Filler?

Dermal Filler is a gel like substance made up of hyaluronic acid and water. It is injected into areas such as the lips, chin, cheeks, tear troughs to create a smoother and fuller appearance. Dermal Fillers can also add volume and structure to the face helping with the signs of aging. Dermal Fillers last anywhere between 6-12 months depending on the product used and how well the client looks after it.

Are they safe?

Severe complications from Dermal Fillers are uncommon. There are potential risks to having Dermal Fillers such as vascular occlusions, bruising, bleeding and swelling. All potential risks are explained during your consultation.

When will I see the effects of having Dermal Fillers?

The results are immediate and only get better once the area has healed and your natural waters drawer to it. We recommend that you leave a period of up to two weeks for the area to settle and heal.

When should clients begin this treatment?

As soon as you would like to add volume, structure or definition to your face or once you notice a loss of elasticity or signs of aging.

Will my face look fake?
